What is this, a Boston Recorder Society December newsletter when it's still November? Our meeting is very early this month: Sunday, December 8, 6:30-9:00PM. Please RSVP yes or no as soon as possible. A prompt reply helps our coaches with their preparations.

New players always welcome--recorders, baroque flutes and strings, and early loud winds. If you are new to BRS, your first meeting is a free trial. See the BRS website for details about our ensembles, membership options, and directions.

Boston Recorder Orchestra Holiday Concert
Monday December 9 7:30PM 
First Church, 11 Garden Street Cambridge MA 
Miyuki Tsurutani, organ, and the Boston Recorder Orchestra present a concert of seasonal music, including pieces by Bach, Buxtehude, and Sobaje.  Admission free; reception to follow.
 
Recorders/Early Music MetroWest 
Saturday December 14 9:30AM-12:15PM 
Theme: Winter Festival 
Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord MA (directions)
Coaches: Dan Meyers, Sarah Cantor, and Sheila Beardslee
Consort visitors $15 - REMM Members FREE

Seven Times Salt: We Bid You Wassail
Monday December 16 7:30PM,
Church of the Good Shepherd, 9 Russell Ave., Watertown MA  
Sunday December 22 4:00PM, St. John's Church, 705 Hale St., Beverly Farms MA 
Seasonal music of 16th, 17th and 20th-century Britain, Europe, and the New World including festive wassails, wintery consort lessons, Scottish tunes for lute and harp, familiar carols, "crooked" Quebecois reels, and songs about Christmas ale. Suggested donation: $20. Reception to follow. More information.
